OpenHydro is a young Irish company developing renewable energy turbines that harness the power of tidal currents in the ocean. The company is now in a transition from product development to industrial production and a program of IT investments has been set out to support that transition. The first major development was to set up a robust planning and reporting system that empowers budget owners and the finance team to access detailed financial reports in near real time and to input forecasts, all in an integrated toolset. OpenHydro chose SAP BW and Business Objects as the platform for that solution. Michael Lochrin will be presenting the business requirements, the solution that was designed, how deployment was prepared and the benefits that have been delivered.
