Chris Jennings from AstraZeneca will present Striving for Maintenance Excellence. AstraZeneca is a worldwide Pharmaceuticals company dedicated to the discovery of new medicines that are designed to improve the health and quality of life of patients around the world. Following a short introduction to Astrazeneca, they will then share how AZ UK currently uses the Plant Maintenance Module to aid the delivery of maintenance to its assets and how they intend to become a World Class maintenance organisation using SAP PM as the core maintenance tool. Chris will also share a recent development of the M1 notification that now forms the basis of the Facilities Management Helpdesk based in Cheshire. This notification enables users to interact with SAP via an email and has been developed with simplicity in mind.
Guy Spaven from SAP will deliver a presentation to the group on PM/PS Integration. This presentation will give an overview of the Project System capabilities, followed by a demonstration of how Plant Maintenance orders can be attached to Projects, and a discussion of the added financial and scheduling benefits which can result.
Jayne Coxonfrom the SAP UK & Ireland User Group will deliver the latest programme information and details on the SAP User Group Conference in November.
Tim Moxey from IHS will present MRO Inventory Optimization - Best Practice. Asset intensive businesses are constantly searching for operational cost savings. What is required as production capacity improves, while simultaneously reducing inventory investment. In most MRO inventories only 5% of items are Frequently Used - their usage can be accurately forecasted. However, the remainder of the inventory is Infrequently Used - and their usage cannot be accurately forecasted using traditional methods. The presentation will consider Best Practice to dynamically balance inventory investment with improved part availability and production capacity improvements.
Guy Spaven from SAP will give an overview of RFID technology, and how it can interact with the SAP system.
