Last year we introduced a new Document and Data Management event to our calendar and after listening to our members we have introduced this as a new SIG for 2020.

Guy Spaven from SAP will present SAP Document Management, what is available?

In this session you will learn about SAP Document Management options for SAP ECC and S/4HANA. SAP DMS (Document Management System) is a cross application component of SAP that provides robust document, content and digital asset management capabilities. SAP Document Management System (DMS) for SAP S/4HANA Cloud and On Premise is a strong offering under the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) umbrella. This session will also discuss other ECM products such as SAP Cloud Platform and OpenText and the future outlook in this space.

Nick Parkin from Proceed Group will present Easing the journey to SAP S/4HANA and/or The Cloud

Data is a critical part of an SAP S/4HANA implementation and/or a migration to The Cloud, it fuels the processes that run your business. A move to S/4HANA must include a data management strategy, to ensure business obsolete data is not migrated and any legacy data is decommissioned or archived in a compliant manner.

SAP will also deliver a presentation on their Data Volume Management Value Map.

SAP DVM (data volume management) enables you to reduce your system growth and system size by using avoidance, summarization, deletion and primarily archiving. This is crucial before , during and after migration to SAP S/4HANA to reduce both costs and downtime while bringing valueless transactional data into memory is avoided. The Data Volume Management value map will facilitate you to reduce data volumes both prior to migration to SAP S/4HANA, as well asduring the operation of SAP S/4HANA. We leverage a combination of SAP Enterprise Support services and a wealth of empowerment material which can be utilised anytime, anywhere by your project and operations team. You can also benefit from direct collaboration with DVM experts at no additional cost to your organisation. Since it’s inception 6 years ago the value map has helped over 300 customers address their DVM requirements through direct collaboration and over 1500 customers in total.

Damian McCarthy is the topic lead for the SAP Enterprise Support value map and has over 20 years SAP experience including 14 in the topic of DVM.

We will be running a round table discussion at the event focussing on document management.

The discussion will be to understand what your common issues are within this area, what you are seeing within your organisations that are impacting on your operational effectiveness, have others had these issues and what are the thoughts of the users and experts in the room to overcome or improve these issues.
