This meeting is kindly being hosted by the RNLI and will be held at their Inshore Lifeboat Centre in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight, please see below the necessary travel arrangements.

Glynn Ellis from the RNLI will present An introduction to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Inshore Lifeboat Centre. This presentation will give an insight into their use of SAP and the introduction of the Lean Processes.

Our SIG Chair, Rachel Morris will present a Live explanation of config and demo of functionality in Dassian's Microsoft Project to SAP Integration. AugustaWestland have had this live on all major projects for over a year and will hopefully be able to show the new version via webex. The software allows for full integration with SAP Networks with security and user exits where required.

There will also be the opportunity to take a Tour of the RNLI base on the Isle of Wight.

Sanjay Chaudhri from Siemens will present to the group Integration of Resource Management Application to SAP PS Design Issues and Considerations. Effective management of people resources is the Holy Grail for service industry. The session will cover solution design considerations for keeping track of resource availability, skills profile and timesheets on one hand with organisations project management function and the integration issues in relation to financial, controlling and commercial aspects of the business in SAP PS.

Rachel Morris, the SIG Chair will also present to the group New Project Systems functionality in Enhancement packs 3 and 4 from SAP.

Travel Plans

Can delegates please aim to get the Redfunnel fastcat from Southampton, Park car in Southampton at Redjet terminal. Redfunnel fast cat leaves to and past the hour. ( Southampton Train station is taxi or bus 5 minutes from Redfunnel terminal.) If you aim to catch the 9;15 Redfunnel fast cat, it gets in at 9;45 to West Cowes,the RNLIwill send a Boat/launch to pick you up and bring you up the river to their base in East Cowes at 9;45, which would get you there for 10;05. Timing is critical,( takes 15 minutes up the river ) or 20 minute walk using chain ferry. Delegates can be returnthe same way to the ferry terminal at the end of the day.

Alternative routes are Redfunnel Car ferry ( takes an Hour crossing ) passenger or car. Docks at East Cowes, 10 minute walk to ILC. Wightlink ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne car ferry ( 45 minute crossing and 15 minute drive to ILC ), Wightlink Ferry Lymington to Yarmouth ( 30 minute crossing plus 30 minute drive to Cowes ) Wightlink Fast Cat from Portsmouth to Ryde ( 15 minute crossing ) ( taxi to ILC 25 minutes) or Hovercraft from Southsea to Ryde.( Ditto )
