Our Maintenance and Service Management SIG aims to provide an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences with fellow users and provide an insight into SAP's future strategy and direction for Maintenance Management (PM / SM / CS Modules / Asset Management).

Richard Wilkins from Mars will be presenting Back to Basics on Maintenance Spare Parts:

  • Sharing experience at Mars from managing spare parts in SAP based on their deployments at about 70 factories
  • Material master-data and naming conventions
  • Different approaches to bills of material
  • Single versus multiple storage locations
  • Special situations and some of the approaches they have used
  • Some key gaps in ECC that they have closed with custom development
  • Standard transactions that can provide interesting insights

SAP will present SAP Predictive Maintenance. An overview of predictive maintenance & service.

Kevin Heard from Delaware will be running a session on Delaware’s 3 steps to help enable asset optimisation in your organisation:

  1. Assessment – A framework to identify opportunity within your SAP solution
  2. Solution alignment – Delaware’s approach to aligning the right SAP solution
  3. EAM solutions – An overview of SAP EAM solution options

At a time like this, asset resilience and resource optimisation is more important than ever. Delaware’s approach to identifying opportunity and aligning the right SAP solutions to enable value in asset management is described in this session. With a combination of “framework” tools and Delaware/Partner SAP solutions they can provide options to improve asset management across your organisation using SAP.

This session will present an overview of Delaware’s:

  • SAP Template industry solutions for accelerated deployment
  • Partner solutions in SAP EAM
  • Work Management
  • Scheduling

The session will walkthrough a typical SAP Assessment, through example illustrate the sort of findings and recommendations that might result, finally show an overview of the solutions portfolio and in particular an example of solution aligned to recommendation.
