This workshop addresses the ever-increasing focus on technology and developers in the world of SAP and indeed wider enterprise IT. No longer the remit of just ABAP developers, SAP technology and development now covers an ever-expanding myriad of technologies, paradigms and TLA’s. Think Core Data Services (Node.js and Java) with the Cloud Application Programming Model using the Business Application Programming Studio as well as ABAP in VS Code.
The full agenda and content for this session will be online shortly, but take a look at some of the benefits this workshop brings:
Mainly focused on the furthering of knowledge and skills in the tech space, this event will often look at ways of expanding understanding of how SAP development approaches are changing and how developers can take advantage of these changes. This could range from the evolving nature of ABAP through to leading edge topics such as blockchain, IoT and machine learning.
The underlying goal will be to figure out how and where new technology and development opportunities can be used in the day to day world of an SAP developer. Developer events will often be more hands-on in nature, offering something tangible in terms of experience and knowledge but also sharing experience (both good and bad) from SAP, partners and of course other SAP customers.
Your UKISUG Chair for Developers is Ian Stubbings, whose career in IT has almost solely been in SAP, with over 20 years’ experience as a developer, development architect and technical lead. Ian’s current role at BP sees him working across their comprehensive SAP estate, steering SAP mergers/carve outs and migration to S/4 HANA, as well as leading proof of concepts and technical projects with both internal colleagues and external companies.
