This event will include a Hands-on session for SAP BTP, Kyma runtime.
Next to the SAP BTP, ABAP runtime and – Cloud Foundry runtime, SAP offers the Kubernetes-based Kyma runtime. Get introduced to its technology and components directly by the SAP product management of Kyma runtime. After a brief overview, walk through one developer tutorial with the online support of a Kyma technology evangelist from SAP.
Arndt Hoffmann from smartShift Technologies GmbH will present Automating Application Modernisation as to RISE with SAP.
RISE with SAP provides customers with a more straightforward path to S/4HANA. Businesses can run S/4HANA in the cloud, and their customisations can run decoupled on another instance, preserving their historical investment. But how can these complex modernisations be done quickly and reliably while minimising risks and saving IT costs, thanks to smartShift's Intelligent Automation Platform!
Taking a manual modernisation approach is time-consuming and often not feasible once the fully iterated plan lists all the required and understood
tasks. In opposition, an automated approach is highly scalable, repeatable, fast, and consistently delivers high-quality results. smartShift's algorithms
and modelling can determine how custom applications need to change to run on modern platforms and automatically apply these changes. We can
also identify which processes to decouple from the core SAP as consistent bundles, by evaluating how these are dependent on SAP core, how
frequently used, how often modified, and how to fit them into modern SAP constructs such as Fiori and RESTful ABAP (RAP). In this session, we will focus on how to modernise monolithic SAP custom applications in structured, well-planned progressive transformation programs. We will touch on the criteria to identify suitable candidates for advanced modernisation and give real customer examples of modernised custom applications to RESTful ABAP and Fiori – powered by smartShift's Intelligent Automation Platform.
