Our Enterprise Architect SIG tries to help Enterprise Architects by giving them access to essential information about SAP products and strategy.
It is aimed at Enterprise Architects and at decision-making roles in business or IT.
This event will focus on your data strategy and how this is changing with the increasing adoption of Hyperscalers for critical workloads and data.
In the May Enterprise Architect SIG we introduced this topic with an overview of how SAP approach this subject. The RISE and SAP Private Cloud initiatives from SAP throw a particular focus on this subject as we increasingly adopt Hyperscalers to host SAP solutions. SAP believe that there is not one tool that is applicable to every scenario and different uses cases for data dictate different patterns. SAP will explore these use cases and highlight why they demand different approaches. Who is accessing the data is one of those key considerations.
John Barnard, Kevin Maddern, Neil Ashworth & Marco Di Leo who are all part of the SAP EA Group will be presenting the following sessions:
Recap of part 1 from the May 18th EA SIG also by John
This session introduces the wider, very topical subject of how to integrate SAP solutions into your wider data strategy including the roles of Hyperscalers. The RISE and SAP Private Cloud initiatives from SAP throw a particular focus on this as we increasingly adopt Hyperscalers as the platform for SAP solutions.
Building on the key takeaways from John’s 1st session SAP will give a high level view on data strategies in the cloud; finding the best balance of technologies and ensuring the most efficient reuse of resources to maximise value.
Based on a customer example we explain how SAP Data Warehouse Cloud can federate non-SAP data from Hyperscalers into the SAP world removing the need for data replication from the Hyperscaler to the SAP environment.
This means that without data duplication customers can blend non-SAP data with SAP data on SAP Data Warehouse Cloud ready to provide insights via SAP Analytics Cloud and enable real-time business decisions.
Jonathan Lake & James Watson from Amazon Web Services will present SAP Data Strategy with a Hyperscale.
SAP’s ERP and Business Warehouse solutions contain a wealth of data – so how do you manage this when you move your SAP systems to a hyperscaler? More tools and services become available, and more data is accessible. AWS experts will explore these different challenges, and demonstrate with the aid of real customer examples how to develop a data strategy that allows you to combine the power of SAP technology with the agility of a hyperscaler.
