Learn about existing and upcoming extensibility options for ABAP-based SAP solutions. The lecture part of the workshop in the morning will focus on ABAP Extensibility Strategy and Custom code Adaptation. In the hands-on part in the afternoon you will learn about the ABAP RESTful application programming model with a special focus on testing and SAP Analytics Cloud integration into SAP BTP ABAP Environment.
A good understanding of traditional ABAP on-premise technology is required. In addition, we highly recommend to make yourself familiar with SAP BTP ABAP Environment running the introductory tutorial at https://developers.sap.com/mission.cp-starter-exte...
The workshop will cover the following topics:
The session will focus on the different extensibility options that customers and partners are looking for: side-by-side extensibility with SAP BTP ABAP Environment, key-user extensibility and on-stack developer extensibility with SAP S/4HANA Cloud ABAP Environment. In addition it will explain the roadmap towards a unified code line approach for all ABAP extensions.
One of the first steps in your digital transformation journey is understanding how much of custom code you actually need to take over to the SAP S/4HANA or move to the cloud. Learn how the Custom Code Migration app based on usage data collected by the transactions SCMON/SUSG helps you to assess your custom code impact and reinforce Clean Core principle during SAP S/4HANA conversions and migration to SAP Business Technology Platform and how you can significantly reduce your custom code adaptation efforts using Quick Fixes in ADT in Eclipse.
During the afternoon we will be running two parallel hands-on sessions, you can decide which session to attend on the day from the following two options:
This workshop explains how to build analytical applications and dashboards in SAP Analytics Cloud consuming data and services offered through SAP BTP ABAP Environment based on live, real time data access.
The ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) allows developers to efficiently build cloud-ready enterprise SAP Fiori apps and REST APIs on SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP ABAP Environment – using the Core Data Services (CDS), behavior definitions and implementations for the transactional handling, as well as business services for the OData service exposure. Learn how to develop a transactional SAP Fiori app and write ABAP Unit tests to ensure its quality.
