This SIG is being hosted by Compass Group at Ricoh Arena, Coventry Football Club.

James Willis from SAP will be give a presentation on Ways in which SAP can help Local Councils provide Financial Solutions to Academy Schools.

This session will cover utilising:

  • The SAP ERP Finance platform to provide additional services to the Academies including production of accounts and discrete process centric solutions.
  • Additional SAP solutions to provide a more automated Shared Service solution.

Caroline Brand from Worcestershire County Council will discuss Worcestershire County Council's SAP In Schools Project. This is an overview of how Worcestershire County Council has implemented SAP as a finance system in its maintained schools. This will include the lessons learnt and the ongoing training and support provided after implementation. They will also report on the progress of their pilot to develop SAP for maintained schools who operate their own bank account.  They currently provide a payroll service to 12 maintained schools, one of which will become an Academy from 1st March 2011.  The lessons learnt will provide a valuable insight for those authorities who are looking to provide financial systems and other services to schools who are looking to take up Academy status.
