The next Ireland Special Interest Group Meeting will take place on the 22nd September 2011 at and is being sponsored by Atos.
Kevin Richardson from SAP will discuss SAP's mobility. Since the acquisition of Sybase in 2010 SAP has been working hard to define our roadmap and align our development effort in Enterprise Mobility. In the past, mobility was about extending the enterprise for your road warriors-field sales and service. Now, with smart phone penetration set to surpass feature phones by end of 2011 and consumer mobility changing the expectation of people, we are entering the new era in Enterprise Mobility that has potential to transform your whole enterprise. The way you innovate, operate, market and sale can be transferred by taking into account the mobile workforce, mobile ecosystem and mobile consumers with powerful devices like iPad, Playbook, iPhone, Blackberry and Android devices. This session will position what SAP can offer, where SAP is today, the roadmap and what options that gives you as customers to get your applications and data on the move.

The recently implemented SAP based mobile field sales solution faced many challenges but has helped reduce the threat of fragmentation whilst at the same time delivering timely SAP data to the mobile staff who need it most. We will also glimpse into the future with the RS demonstration of next generation mobility combining SAP data with Augmented Reality.
