Amanprit Kaller from KPMG will deliver the session Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Convergence Challenge and Benefits. Fearful of both business failure and the penalties of non-compliance, many organisations reacted by expanding governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) departments. GRC often lost sight of its prime objective: improving the performance and efficiency of the organisation while maintaining the desired level of assurance.
Due to confusing terminology in the market place, siloed approaches, and spiralling costs, board executives struggle to see the value in GRC, which could be generated from a structured holistic initiative. Recent trend shows that companies have identified the problem and began to align different GRC initiatives. Such efforts have increasingly come under the banner of GRC convergence.
This session will explore GRC and the challenges companies face. It will also look at taking a practical approach to convergence, including some of the typical challenges and benefits of a more integrated approach to GRC. KPMG will share their Holistic GRC approach which connects GRC together to help make risk real and relevant to the boardroom agenda.
