 Welcome to your November News

Chairman's Note

Things are feeling a little more positive on the COVID-19 front this month with a few vaccines looking promising and giving us light, even if its only a candle, at the end of the tunnel!

It's been a busy month for UKISUG, as our autumn plan of digital events continued with some extremely well-attended events across a really broad range of topics. We demonstrated there is still an awful lot of interest in Brexit with one of our largest group of attendees for an event during these strange times! While we still wait to hear what sort of deal will be done by the UK Government and the EU, you can keep an eye on the overview SAP Note covering Brexit –2885225

Last week I had the pleasure of being part of the virtual judging panel for this year's Photo Competition and we had some amazing entries - keep your eye out for the winners appearing in our calendar.

Earlier this week Craig Dale (UKISUG CEO) and I took part in the first of our new monthly meetings with Michiel Verhoeven the UKI SAP Managing Director.  It presented a great opportunity for us to align some of the activities we have planned next year, particularly around the Journey to S/4 and how we can help you get the most from your support.

It's only two weeks until our final Symposium this year themed around Digital Insights - there are 24 breakout sessions available during the day and opportunities to network with other members. I am really pleased with the amount of member input we have on the day, plus a range of partners and SAP supporting the focus topics: S/4HANA and Automation, SAP Skills and Licencing, HR and Analytics and Cloud/Hyperscalers - not to mention the launch of our SAP Skills Whitepaper.

There will also be an opportunity to preview our 2021 calendar of events! Please take a look at the agenda and reserve your space.

Stay safe and keep washing your hands!

Building a Relationship of Trust with SAP

During our UKISUG Connect Annual Conference at the end of 2019, which seems a lifetime ago now (back in the halcyon days when we could come together in large groups to learn, network and collaborate), Paul Cooper, UKISUG Chairman, revealed results of our Annual Member Survey.

Part of Paul’s keynote highlighted that only 8% of our members, SAP customers, considered SAP as a trusted advisor. To address this, a strategic initiative was created between UKISUG and SAP to look at how we can build a relationship based on trust between you, the customer, and SAP.

We ran two workshops involving direct customers and SAP personnel, who represented different lines of business, to investigate the elements that build and break trust, discussing areas of concern on both the SAP and customer sides of the relationship. View the full article and the outcomes of the sessions here.
