Welcome to your August News

Chairmans Note

It’s a fast paced world and it can be difficult to keep up with the rate at which change happens or decipher what changes could have the most positive impact.

As we forecast and plan ahead we are faced with many roadmaps for product upgrades and / or product replacement. Sometimes we seek these for direct business benefit to drive efficiency or for competitive edge, but often the business case is not compelling and we seek to adopt innovation so as not to fall too far behind.

Therefore, any insight, tools, processes, or plain and simple information that can help us plan ahead and map future changes will be a benefit, to help us make informed decisions, understand and mitigate the potential disruption and provide some level of assurance that a positive return can be achieved.

Would you agree-

  • Customers need a personalised guided procedure to implement and adopt innovation, using a predefined workflow, dependent on the magnitude and impact of innovation whilst including respective stakeholders?
  • SAP must work with customers, without a multitude of sales teams bombarding customers with conflicting messages?
  • Customers expect a clear communication from SAP on innovation topics?
  • Relevant information and Customer Reference tools, including business case information are beneficial?

If so, I’m pleased to say that through User Group & SAP collaboration, progress is being made to address these points.

SAP offers customers a unique process to receive comprehensive information and references to identify the real value of SAP Products and Solutions, including customer references. An Innovation Adoption Guide eBook has been created which may help guide us as we make these crucial decisions.

Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software enables companies to achieve the transparency and understanding necessary to actively optimize and manage their SAP deployments. SAP licensing is complex, and a lack of insight into SAP licensing can result in significant financial and legal liabilities and paying for assets that are not even utilized.

Indirect usage is a large focus area for SAP when it comes to audits and this is because SAP recognises it is a multi-billion dollar revenue opportunity. So it’s crucial for your organisation to be fully prepared!

Keeping on top of SAP® licensing is a time-consuming and often complex task. The correlation between licenses defined in an organization’s contract and technical entitlement to use the SAP system has always been open to interpretation. The situation is exacerbated when it comes to indirect usage.

Snow Software have created a guide to help you understand why indirect usage is a hot topic now, how to identify it and how to build a full picture of your SAP landscape in preparation for successful audit or license negotiation.

What it is, what it means for you and why preparation is the key to a successful audit or negotiation”

UKISUG’s Fantasy Football league has returned for its fifth season!

So after winning for two seasons in a row, we were certain Martin Lyall couldn’t do it for a third year. His mid-season form led him to a mediocre mid-table position and surely that was his title winning chances over! Well, it would seem not. Roaring back into the top spot with only 3 weeks remaining of the season, Martin won again!
After yet another successful competition, we would like to invite our members to join our 2016-17 league, with the chance to win a full 3-day delegate pass to our UKISUG Connect 2017
To join the UK & Ireland SAP User Group League just follow the simple steps:

  1. Visit the Premier League Fantasy Football Website –
  2. Set up your account (Click Sign Up)
  3. Under the Leagues tab, select ‘Join a league’
  4. Choose private then select next
  5. Enter the following code when requested ‘471121-140395’ then select ‘Join League’
  6. Enjoy!

If you were part of the league last year, don’t worry, you’ll be automatically added when you register your team.

Will Martin ‘Mourihno’ Lyall keep his crown for a fourth year or can anyone else claim top spot at the end of the season?

Good luck!
