There have been a flurry of events over the last few weeks, whilst I was not at Sapphire this year I did make it to the itelligence event last week and our second symposium this year focused on IoT. It was great to meet some of our members at these events and hear the things that are going well with their SAP ecosystem and also their concerns – particularly in relation to licencing. Earlier this month SAP published some further information on the now infamous topic of Indirect Access (or Digital Access…). You can find links to the information and our response on our website.
Things are starting to become much clearer, particularly relating to the charging mechanism and what tools will be made available. We have been working through SUGEN alongside DSAG and ASUG on this topic to reflect the views of our membership in robust consultations with SAP
over the last few months. I don’t think we can yet say that this subject is closed but we are in a better place now than three years ago, but as I said there is still work to do! We have a SIG in June that will be focused on Indirect Access and will have some well placed SAP speakers, so if you want to find out more or give some feedback directly to SAP - please book a space now.Planning is well underway for this years Connect Conference which is happening in Birmingham this December. Over the next few weeks the streams will be confirmed and work is well underway getting our Keynote speakers in place. Which leads me to ask the question – would you like a free pass to this years conference? Members who volunteer to speak at the event get a free pass to attend! Plus if you get a proposal submitted and accepted in the next few weeks you can come along to our highly recommended Speaker Training course that will be running in July.Presentations delivered by you our members are always amongst the most popular and sought after sessions at our events – so lets see if this year we can get even more of you to share your experience of working with the SAP portfolio! If you would like more information please drop Amy in the team a note or speak to one of our Volunteers at an event.
