Welcome to your December News
Chairman's Note
I would like to start this months note with a couple of reflections on our conference last week. This was up there with one of our biggest ever events and to give you an idea we had over 600 people on-site on Sunday (attendees, volunteers and exhibitors). I reflected on the success of the Sunday workshops and exhibition in my keynote and how this has become an important part of the community and people focus of our event.
As always the conference presents the volunteers and board with a great opportunity to speak with numerous members of your User Group. I would like to thank you all for your ongoing commitment to the User Group and your candid feedback on both us and SAP. ![]() It's always good to hear about people's success stories, their frustrations and plans for the future, this sort of information is important so that we can represent our membership and remain an independent voice for the SAP user community in the UK and Ireland. Will you be joining us at UKISUG Connect in 2020? Bookings are now open, and you can sign up as a delegate now for our lowest early bird rate of the year!
Over the last year we have increased the number of member presentations at our events by 10%, thank you to everyone that stepped forward this year. If you would like to be part of this growing band please get in touch, we can support you and help with refining the topic as well as running speaker workshops.
I would like to say a big thank you to our back office team and volunteers, without you we would not have delivered an amazing conference and numerous SIGs and webinars throughout the year. Planning is already well underway for next year and we have some great events lined up, including the launch of our SAP B1 Academy. We will also be unveiling some whitepapers to add further to the value of your membership (more news on those early in 2020).
Hopefully you all have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Paul Cooper Chairman Are you looking to upgrade to SAP S/4HANA in the near future?
Moving from ECC to S/4HANA is difficult for any organisation, and there are plenty of things to consider in order to have a smooth transition with minimal business disruption. How will your changes stay synchronised between the two SAP systems? How can you protect and maintain templates that might be used by both ECC and S/4HANA?
The answer is automation engineered for SAP.
Whether you’re embarking on a major change project such as the move to SAP S/4HANA, responding to a drive for greater automation or simply looking for a way to make existing change control processes more efficient, Basis Technologies’ ActiveControl technology provides the speed, control and visibility that your SAP development team needs, without compromising on safety.

Do you have a story to share?
It is really important to us that we include customer experiences in the SIGs. Please get involved and let us know if you are interested. You will be invited to attend a free speaker training workshop in the summer and you will also receive an exclusive speaker rate at our annual conference Connect 2020 as a thank you.
"I find that there is always at least one User Group member with an experience or an interest in new technology that resonates with the work going on in my company. The benefit of sharing is always two-way." - Michael Lochrin, Open Hydro
