Welcome to your November News Chairman's Note
Last week the new leadership combo at SAP hosted an event for the financial investment community – Capital Market Day, this was our first opportunity to start to hear the plans and changes the co-CEOs have for SAP. There were many positive messages from a customer perspective especially around the need to be more focused on customer success, maintaining its significant expenditure on R&D (14% of revenue) plus the necessity to improve the integration of the product suite and continuing to build a unified data model for its solutions. A significant part of the day was focused around the S/4HANA migrations with updates on adoption rates and customers routes to the product. ![]() Early next month I will be able to share with you the results of our membership survey that concluded this autumn. From this data we will be able to give you a view on how the journey to S/4HANA is progressing, latest thoughts on licensing and the Digital Access Programme in the UK and Ireland. Additionally, we will be able to give you some interesting feedback on how our members feel about their relationship with SAP. Earlier this month the annual big budget John Lewis ad premiered, a sure sign that we are rapidly approaching Christmas and the end of the year (plus for those of us in the food industry an exceptionally busy time). This year for the first time our annual UKISUG Connect Conference will actually be happening in December. I would at this point like to confirm I don’t intend to wear a ‘santa hat’ for my opening keynote.
Over the next few weeks our volunteer community of SIG Chairs and SIG Committee members will be reviewing the meeting topics for 2020. To influence the content of these events please log in to your UKISUG JAM and start a conversation!

"I find that there is always at least one User Group member with an experience or an interest in new technology that resonates with the work going on in my company. The benefit of sharing is always two-way." - Michael Lochrin, Open Hydro
