Welcome to your March News
The year is already racing along, it was St Patricks Day earlier this week, the clocks change next week and then its only a few weeks to the Easter holidays… If you are lucky enough to have some time away from work over the next month don’t forget our Photography Competition is underway and we would love to have more entries than last year!
Spring is a busy time for the User Group, I will be off to the SUGEN Meeting in Walldorf with Craig Dale (our CEO) and Philip Adams (previous UKISUG Chairman), where we are looking forward to hearing more from SAP S4 / C4 Hana and of course licencing… In early April the User Group Board will have its annual meeting with the SAP UKI Board, with all the changes over the last year it will be good to meet the new leadership team and talk about how they can help us grow our membership and support the upcoming programme of events.
During April, May and June we will be hosting our three annual Symposia:-
If you have not managed to make it to one of these events before they come highly recommended and have a good mix of SAP, partner and member presentations in multiple streams so you can tailor the agenda to be relevant to your organisations priorities.
I suspect we had all thought by this point in time we would know what was happening with Brexit… Earlier this month we hosted a webinar with SAP UKI to help point you to the right resources to assist with preparation (as much as that’s possible). A recording of the webinar is available for members and can be found here. We are keeping this topic under close scrutiny and as and when we know more we will either send out further information or host a further event.

Are you looking to upgrade to SAP S/4HANA in the near future?
Moving from ECC to S/4HANA is difficult for any organisation, and there are plenty of things to consider in order to have a smooth transition with minimal business disruption. How will your changes stay synchronised between the two SAP systems? How can you protect and maintain templates that might be used by both ECC and S/4HANA?
The answer is automation engineered for SAP.
Whether you’re embarking on a major change project such as the move to SAP S/4HANA, responding to a drive for greater automation or simply looking for a way to make existing change control processes more efficient, Basis Technologies’ ActiveControl technology provides the speed, control and visibility that your SAP development team needs, without compromising on safety.
Benefits of ActiveControl:
- Achieve DevOps and CI/CD in SAP to accelerate delivery and time to market
- Increase quality, resilience and system stability to minimise business risk
- Support the preparation for cloud and S/4HANA migrations by streamlining the upgrade of existing systems
- Enable ECC and S/4HANA systems to be run in parallel and automatically synchronised during transition
- Integrate SAP change delivery into the wider IT tool chain (ITSM, Agile, CI/CD, Testing)
- Dramatically reduce operating costs
