Our SIG Chairs are responsible for the planning and running of our SIGs throughout the year with each Chair or Co-Chair looking after a particular SIG.

Philip Adams

Philip Adams

Ireland SIG Chair

Philip is head of group it at Mercury Engineering and is responsible for the full ICT portfolio including the implementation and global deployment of SAP across the Mercury group. Prior to joining Mercury, Philip worked with Accenture on projects spanning public sector and financial services. Philip became a director of the user group in May 2010 and was appointed chairman in March 2013.

Ardavan has over 10 years of industrial experience as a technology transfer consultant, he has lead an delivered enterprise systems solutions. Deborah Brady

Irish HR & Payroll SIG Co-chair

With over 17 years experience in HR and working with SAP in AIB since its implementation in 2004, Deborah is currently managing the payroll team delivering payrolls across ROI, UK and Northern Ireland.

With 20 years of SAP experience (14 years of which as Basis Support / Consultant) Scott moved into the Public Sector in 2008 and is now the IT Delivery Manager at Sunderland City Council, responsible for the authority’s SAP COE.

Ethan has spent over 20 years in IT working in different roles from Project & Programme management, Development, Operations and currently Architecture, Technology and Innovation. Ethan has a broad experience across a number of domains also, including global companies in the Aerospace, Utilities and e-Commerce sectors. Throughout his career there has been a history of exploitation and optimisation of SAP solutions to support business goals and continually challenges his peers to the art of the possible and to ensure best fit solutions.

Training & Change Management SIG Co-Chair

Roy has almost 20 years’ experience with SAP, training university staff on SCLM, SRM, MM, SD, HR, BW etc. He has been involved in major upgrades and implementations and sought new ways to train and support the users. A regular member of project teams for new implementations, his experience of the University and SAP providing a valuable insight.

Paul Cooper

Application Development Life-cycle Management SIG Co-Chair

Paul has more than 18 years’ experience working with and managing SAP solutions. Currently Paul is the Head of Information Systems and a member of the Management Board at Burton’s Biscuit Company. He has been an active member of the User Group for over 10 years co-Chairing the ADLM Special Interest Group and joined the Board in 2011, earlier this year Paul was appointed Chairman of UKISUG.

Martin has been involved with SAP since 2009 as Business Analyst and ABAP Developer. Having worked at the same manufacturing company for over 20 years, Martin has successfully implemented process improvements in every area of the company. Martin is the custodian of the companies SAP Change Request system and is responsible for the delivery and resource required for their completion. Wanted, Dead or Alive

Greg Durrans

Greg Durrans

Business ByDesign SIG Chair

Formerly an owner and director of a successful manufacturing business, Greg has implemented business ByDesign in his own organisation before entering the world of ByDesign and ERP implementations as a full time profession. Greg has a strong finance and manufacturing background, this led to Greg working on implementations of SAP R3, and leading SAGE 200, SAGE 500 and SAP Business ByDesign implementations. More recently, Greg has worked with customers to support their own implementations of ByDesign as well as the training of existing customers to ensure best use of the solution.

Audit, Control And Security SIG Chair

Brian has been involved in SAP in both an IT Auditing and Security capacity since 2005. He has 21+ years’ experience as an it Auditor across different sectors. He is currently involved in the security and monitoring of Tata steel’s SAP installations across UK and Europe. Brian has recently accepted a role on the SAP UK & Ireland user group Board of Directors and is looking forward to the new challenges this brings.

Michael Gent

Michael has over 20 years retailing experience and over 17 years implementing and managing SAP solutions in multiple retailers. Within this time he has been involved with many full lifecycle implementations, SAP upgrades and strategic retail & logistics projects.

Terry Gilmour

Terry Gilmour

Scotland SIG Chair

Terry first started working with SAP in 2007 as part of the Selex ES UK Implementation Team. Over a 7 year period he supported the deployment of SAP across six lines of business within Selex ES UK. Terry’s current role is that of a SAP Technical Lead for Procurement which involves the management SAP development, supporting the businesses SAP Road Map and process development.

Tim Guest is a director at Zoedale Plc, a wholesale distribution organisation who use SAP Business One. Tim is an active member of the SAP community and is one of the SAP mentors with a focus on the SME market place.

Roger Hanspal

With over 10 years experience of SAP, Roger commenced his career as an accountant. He has undertaken a number of SAP implementations and has now moved to a role that supports new SAP developments and users particularly in finance and maintains master data. Roger also undertakes the training requirements in respect of finance and controlling with an emphasis on PS.

Customer Engagement & Commerce SIG Chair

Michael has been working with Cloud for Customer since 2015 and has project managed a number of deployment and improvement projects to various teams at Stelrad Radiators. The initial C4C deployment project at Stelrad was recently awarded a SAP Gold Quality Award in the Innovation category and Michael presented a keynote speech about this at the 2016 UKISUG conference.

Business One SIG Co-Chair

Beta group was founded by Martin Lewis in 1987 and has grown into a leading manufacturing and maintenance specialist. Its operations span the manufacture of air filters for the heating, ventilation and spray booth industries as well as the provision of building services and Spraybooth maintenance throughout the UK. Beta also manufacture special coatings for the interior wood industry. In order to improve their use of sap, martin joined the sap user group in 2007 eventually becoming the business one SIG chairman and director in June 2010 to add some vital SME experience. Martin now co-chairs the SIG with Tim Guest.

Graeme has been involved with SAP, and in particular the Project System and Business Intelligence, since 2006. Graeme is currently focused on supporting Project Management and Planning tools within the Leonardo Company’s Airborne & Space Systems Division (UK).

Val has over 17 years of experience on SAP, with 3 Payroll implementations; together with 30 years managing complex payrolls specialising in sports, leisure & travel, prisons, hospitals, schools and military bases.

Cheryl project managed SAP implementation in the Council and has responsibility for SAP support & development and in the last 4 years has implemented a range of SAP e-Forms to deliver 40% budget savings.

Real Estate SIG Chair

Geoff has been working with SAP since the first release of R/3 in 1992. He was head of the finance practice at Diagonal Consulting for 12 years, and has worked for Shell International since 2006. At Shell he is a member of the Downstream Process Integration team.

SuccessFactors SIG Chair

Kara has worked on SuccessFactors since joining Coca-Cola European Partners in 2012. Originally specialising in the Talent space, she moved to core HR and implemented Employee Central in 2015. Her role today includes managing BAU of Employee Central, managing product enhancements, user adoption and rolling out full suite of SuccessFactors to the new employees from the recent 2016 merger.

Richard manages SAP testing for Dwr Cymru Welsh water, who he has been with for 12 years playing a key role in a number of major implementations. Active in the user group since 2005, he focuses on the testing SIG within ALM.

Sandeep has been involved in the Business Intelligence arena for the past 17 yrs. Over this time he has undertaken roles such as Bi Implementation and Exploitation Manager. In his current role Sandeep is looking at how technologies and data around Big Data can help drive new insight within organisations.

Daniel has extensive experience working with SAP over 14 years and successfully delivered a portfolio of many SAP projects. While working with AMEY he has initiated and managed a large number projects leading to HR transformation and improving efficiencies in HCM transactional processing.

Costa has more than 15 years’ experience working with SAP systems with vast experience of SAP global implementations, strategic projects, upgrades, infrastructure And licensing. He also implemented E-commerce hosting installation projects working for global organisations like RS-Components and Pentland In leading positions. He has been supporting the SUG for the last 5 years as SIG Co-Chair–Application Life Cycle Management.

Darrol is the Retail SIG chair and has been involved with SAP implementations for the last 15 years, working with business teams to identify the capability they need and managing the delivery of the solutions.

With over 35 years experience in the chemical industry, in various engineering, maintenance and project management roles, Mike has been involved in development and implementation of maintenance management and project systems since 1985. Mike specialises in consultancy and development of engineering and maintenance business processes and related systems, especially using SAP as the core system and has participated in several SAP implementations over the past 15 years. He is currently involved in the roll out of a single global SAP system with Sabic.

Claire has 10 years’ experience working with SAP and was involved in the initial implementation of the SAP HCM and Payroll Landscape for EON UK. She now works on an HR IT Business Support team which supports the continuous system improvements and changes for the company.

Steve is SAP Technical Manager at the University of Warwick and has worked with SAP since 1998. As well as looking after the University’s technical architecture, Steve works in the areas of GRC and User Experience. Steve has been an SAP Mentor since 2013.

Business Intelligence SIG Co-Chair

Dan Senter is Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence manger for the UK shared services business at National Grid, International Electricity and Gas company based in the UK and North Eastern US. Dan has worked in Business Intelligence, Change Management and Business Transformation for the last 14 years, with experience working across a number of projects driving improvements in data management, business transformation and the utilisation of the SAP bi toolset. Prior to National Grid Dan was Head of Business Intelligence for Balfour Beatty services amongst other roles there in operations and business improvement and previous to this worked in manufacturing at Tata Steel.

With over 11 years of SAP experience, underpinned by a postgraduate MSC from University of Westminster, Caroline is currently leading a team of FICO & SRM consultants at Surrey County Council. She is a hands on team leader, who is at the same time involved in the strategic thinking of where the team should go and what they should be focusing on. Successfully managed projects through their full lifecycle, from requirements analysis to post go-live support. Consistently delivered projects within strict deadlines, Known ample facets of business processes and covered all aspects of SAP Finance and Controlling, SAP Material Management, SAP Supplier Relationship Management, SAP Project System, SAP Investment Management, SAP Asset Accounting and SAP Travel Management.

Richard is responsible for SAP running in a hundred countries at the British Council and has experience on SAP since 2000. Prior to SAP arriving In Richard’s working life he held management positions in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Change Management roles.

Graham has 35+ years in IT mainly working on HR and Payroll applications on various platforms and suppliers including 15 years as a freelance consultant in both private and public sector. 16 years SAP HR experience with Payroll being the main focus working for a global insurance company with SAP HR in 35+ countries and SAP Payroll in 9 countries. Currently working as part of a global IT/Business team coordinating payroll changes worldwide and anything related to finance sector compliance such as SOX. In addition providing specialist business and IT support for third party SAP add on tools and all UK payroll support and development.

John Weikert

Data Visualisation & Reporting SIG Chair

John is the managing director of Sulis Systems Ltd and has worked exclusively with BusinessObjects technology since 1997, providing consultancy and training to clients in the UK and Europe. More recently, he has developed a range of BusinessObjects management tools for documentation and auditing which are now used around the world. John has also served as the Chairman of the BusinessObjects User Group UK and as a former director of UKISUG.

Richard Wilkins

Maintenance & Service Management SIG Co-Chair

Richard is a Chartered Engineer with a background in the consumer products industry. He has held Maintenance Management and IT management roles at Gillette and Mars, where he is currently an SAP template owner.
