Our SIG Chairs are responsible for the planning and running of our SIGs throughout the year with each Chair or Co-Chair looking after a particular SIG.

Philip Adams

Ireland SIG Chair

Philip is Head of Group IT at Mercury Engineering and is responsible for the full ICT portfolio including the implementation and global deployment of SAP across the Mercury Group. Prior to joining Mercury, Philip worked with Accenture on projects spanning public sector and financial services. Philip is also a Director of UKISUG and a member of the Core Leadership Team of SUGEN (SAP User Group Executive Network) which comprises 21 User Groups from across the world.

Ardavan has over 10 years of industrial experience as a technology transfer consultant, he has lead an delivered enterprise systems solutions. Lee is Finance Systems Manager at Benchmark Holdings Plc and is responsible for the group’s ERP, EPM and BI portfolio. This includes SAP Business ByDesign which the group have been using since 2013. Lee has over 20 years’ experience in Finance and is passionate about using technology to deliver business value.

Roy has almost 20 years’ experience with SAP, training university staff on SCLM, SRM, MM, SD, HR, BW etc. He has been involved in major upgrades and implementations and sought new ways to train and support the users. A regular member of project teams for new implementations, his experience of the University and SAP providing a valuable insight.

Edith has 16+ years experience in implementing and supporting SAP HR and payroll. She is the manager of BearingPoint’s SAP HR and SuccessFactors consultancy team.

Martin Crangle

Martin has been involved with SAP since 2009 as Business Analyst and ABAP Developer. Having worked at the same manufacturing company for over 20 years, Martin has successfully implemented process improvements in every area of the company. Martin is the custodian of the companies SAP Change Request system and is responsible for the delivery and resource required for their completion. Wanted, Dead or Alive

Brian Froom

Audit, Control And Security SIG Chair

Brian has been involved in SAP in both an IT Auditing and Security capacity since 2005. He has 21+ years’ experience as an it Auditor across different sectors. He is currently involved in the security and monitoring of Tata steel’s SAP installations across UK and Europe. Brian has recently accepted a role on the SAP UK & Ireland user group Board of Directors and is looking forward to the new challenges this brings.

Michael Gent

Michael has over 20 years retailing experience and over 17 years implementing and managing SAP solutions in multiple retailers. Within this time he has been involved with many full lifecycle implementations, SAP upgrades and strategic retail & logistics projects.

Terry Gilmour

Scotland SIG Chair

Terry first started working with SAP in 2007 as part of the Selex ES UK Implementation Team. Over a 7 year period he supported the deployment of SAP across six lines of business within Selex ES UK. Terry’s current role is that of a SAP Technical Lead for Procurement which involves the management SAP development, supporting the businesses SAP Road Map and process development.

Trish is the Head of Finance Systems at NATS, where she has been since 2008. Her focus is continuously improving people, processes and systems. She started this journey with Cloud CRM, before moving to Finance to lead implementation for On-Premise BW on HANA together with BPC; she has spoken at various SAP User Group events about these projects.

Duncan Hicks

Maintenance & Service Management SIG Co-Chair

Duncan joined British Rail Engineering in 1986, which was then privatised in 1998 and following a number of merger and acquisitions the company is now part of Bombardier Inc., which is the World’s only company operating in the Aerospace and Rail sectors. He started his working life in the Finance department and worked in various roles both within the operations and headquarters environment. He has also worked in Information Systems and Procurement on process development and whilst based in Shanghai, PRC was involved in the administrative functions during the setup of Bombardier’s Independent Procurement Office in China. Since 2011, he has been with in a team responsible for improving the use of business systems within Bombardier’s UK Services Business and is now responsible for developing, managing and sustainment of reporting, data visualisation and business systems. In addition his team looks after new project start up and the building / analysis of Maintenance Forecasts within SAP. Duncan is a Charted Management Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Outside of work he enjoys watching Derby County, walking, reading and attempting to play golf.

Claire has worked in the affordable housing sector for 18 years and was part of a project team which delivered the first in sector implementation of SAP in 2016. She is currently the Lead Functional Architect for Real Estate responsible for working closely with the business to deliver change and system development.

Tahiana Jefferis

Application Development Life-cycle Management SIG Co-Chair

Tahiana has been working in the IT industry for the last 30 years of which 15 have been on leading SAP teams. Currently Tahiana manages the IT & Digital Enterprise Applications Portfolio Group for Orbis* with teams based in Surrey, East Sussex and Brighton & Hove. Orbis support many applications, but SAP is one of their critical ones, as it provides the support their colleagues need to be able to perform their citizen specific support tasks in an efficient way, as it allows them to spend less time on administrative activities. Tahiana is really passionate about customer service and this is one of the reasons why she takes Application Life Management as a fundamental service to offer to their customers. Michael has been working with Cloud for Customer since 2015 and has project managed a number of deployment and improvement projects to various teams at Stelrad Radiators. The initial C4C deployment project at Stelrad was recently awarded a SAP Gold Quality Award in the Innovation category and Michael presented a keynote speech about this at the 2016 UKISUG conference.

Higher Education & Research SIG Chair

Leighton has been an IT professional for over 20 years, in a career that has taken in database and application design, development, maintenance and support, customer relationship management, process improvement, IT strategy, team management and more. Leighton has moved on a long way from his COBOL, CICS and DB/2 origins - he is now the Head of SAP and Finance systems at the University of Warwick, working with his team to deliver a robust SAP service and extending and improving the many benefits SAP delivers to the University.

Graeme has been involved with SAP, and in particular the Project System and Business Intelligence, since 2006. Graeme is currently focused on supporting Project Management and Planning tools within the Leonardo Company’s Airborne & Space Systems Division (UK).

Val has over 17 years of experience on SAP, with 3 Payroll implementations; together with 30 years managing complex payrolls specialising in sports, leisure & travel, prisons, hospitals, schools and military bases.

Public Sector SIG Co-Chair

Cheryl project managed SAP implementation in the Council and has responsibility for SAP support & development and in the last 4 years has implemented a range of SAP e-Forms to deliver 40% budget savings.

Geoff has been working with SAP since the first release of R/3 in 1992. He was head of the finance practice at Diagonal Consulting for 12 years, and has worked for Shell International since 2006. At Shell he is a member of the Downstream Process Integration team.

Richard manages SAP testing for Dwr Cymru Welsh water, who he has been with for 12 years playing a key role in a number of major implementations. Active in the user group since 2005, he focuses on the testing SIG within ALM.

Sandeep has been involved in the Business Intelligence arena for the past 17 yrs. Over this time he has undertaken roles such as Bi Implementation and Exploitation Manager. In his current role Sandeep is looking at how technologies and data around Platform and Database can help drive new insight within organisations.

Jonathan Phillips

SAP Business ByDesign SIG Co-Chair

Jonathan is Group Business Systems Manager at Aspen Pumps, a fast-growing business in the HVAC industry with a global supply chain & customer base. He is a self-professed “ SAP ByDesign Evangelist” and has led three on-time and on-budget rapid implementations of the solution in UK, France and Germany. A CIMA qualified management accountant, Jonathan has held management positions in both finance and operations and now oversees all aspects of business systems and IT. His cross-functional experience allows him to shape critical business processes based on best practice and aligned to strategic objectives.

Claire has 10 years’ experience working with SAP and was involved in the initial implementation of the SAP HCM and Payroll Landscape for EON UK. She now works on an HR IT Business Support team which supports the continuous system improvements and changes for the company.

Steve is SAP Technical Manager at the University of Warwick and has worked with SAP since 1998. As well as looking after the University’s technical architecture, Steve works in the areas of GRC and User Experience. Steve has been an SAP Mentor since 2013.

SuccessFactors SIG Chair

Lisa has worked on SuccessFactors since joining Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) in 2014. Originally specialising in the Performance & Talent modules, she is now application owner for the full suite of SuccessFactors for CCEP. Her role today includes managing a team of subject matter experts, advising on product enhancements, encouraging user adoption and the reimplementation of SuccessFactors modules following a recent company merger.

Dan Senter is UK Reporting Centre of Excellence manager for UK Finance at National Grid, International Electricity and Gas company based in the UK and North Eastern US. A chartered engineer with a background in Business Intelligence, Change Management, Business Transformation and Robotics Process Automation over the last 15 years. Dan has experience working across a number of projects driving improvements in data management, business transformation and the utilisation of both SAP and other industry leading BI and analytics toolsets. Prior to National Grid Dan was Head of Business Intelligence for Balfour Beatty services amongst other roles there in transformation / business improvement and previous to this worked in manufacturing at Tata Steel.

With over 11 years of SAP experience, underpinned by a postgraduate MSC from University of Westminster, Caroline is currently leading a team of FICO & SRM consultants at Surrey County Council. She is a hands on team leader, who is at the same time involved in the strategic thinking of where the team should go and what they should be focusing on. Successfully managed projects through their full lifecycle, from requirements analysis to post go-live support. Consistently delivered projects within strict deadlines, Known ample facets of business processes and covered all aspects of SAP Finance and Controlling, SAP Material Management, SAP Supplier Relationship Management, SAP Project System, SAP Investment Management, SAP Asset Accounting and SAP Travel Management.

Sotos Soteriou has been working with Information Systems for over 25 years. For the last 12 years he has been working with SAP Business One. Various roles have included working at SAP Partners & End users in Cyprus and the UK/IRE. Speciality topics include SAP HANA, SAP Intercompany, Boyum, Task Centre, DTW, Crystal Reports and MS Power BI.

Ian’s career in IT has almost solely been in SAP, with over 20 years’ experience as a developer, development architect and technical lead. Ian’s current role at BP sees him working across their comprehensive SAP estate, steering SAP mergers/carve outs and migration to S/4 HANA, as well as leading proof of concepts and technical projects with both internal colleagues and external companies. Prior to BP, Ian worked at HCL Axon, Unilever, Yell and Capita as either consultant or contractor. He is still passionate about development and tries to keep his ‘hand in’ whenever possible.

Richard is responsible for SAP running in a hundred countries at the British Council and has manufacturing and supply chain experience on SAP since 2000. Prior to SAP arriving In Richard’s working life he held management positions in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Change Management roles.

Graham has 35+ years in IT mainly working on HR and Payroll applications on various platforms and suppliers including 15 years as a freelance consultant in both private and public sector. 16 years SAP HR experience with Payroll being the main focus working for a global insurance company with SAP HR in 35+ countries and SAP Payroll in 9 countries. Currently working as part of a global IT/Business team coordinating payroll changes worldwide and anything related to finance sector compliance such as SOX. In addition providing specialist business and IT support for third party SAP add on tools and all UK payroll support and development.

John has been working with SAP BW and Business Objects for 13 years including 2 major full SAP implementations. Currently BI Solution Architect for Business Services in National Grid. John's key focus is around Data Visualisation and Design Thinking and how they can be a key factor in getting value out of BI and Analytics solutions.

John has been working in IT for more than 20 years and supporting SAP Business One for the last 9 years. In that time, he’s been involved in taking it from a Sage Line 50 replacement to one that supports European distribution, warehousing and feeding multiple B2B and B2C websites with up to the minute data.

Data Visualisation & Reporting SIG Chair

John is the managing director of Sulis Systems Ltd and has worked exclusively with BusinessObjects technology since 1997, providing consultancy and training to clients in the UK and Europe. More recently, he has developed a range of BusinessObjects management tools for documentation and auditing which are now used around the world. John has also served as the Chairman of the BusinessObjects User Group UK and as a former director of UKISUG.

Richard Wilkins

Richard is a Chartered Engineer with a background in the consumer products industry. He has held Maintenance Management and IT management roles at Gillette and Mars, where he is currently an SAP template owner.

Neil has worked in ICT for over 20 years. For the past 10 years he has worked with SAP systems. His role involves ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the SAP system, whilst planning and delivering SAP projects, this includes upgrades and introducing new areas of functionality.
