How will your data influence your AI success?

Syniti (in conjunction with UKISUG) has published its 2026 report: Data migration and management for SAP businesses.

SAP organisations are no strangers to hearing about the need to get their data in order. As S/4HANA migrations and AI projects ramp up, access to accurate and timely data is becoming ever more important.

2026 marks the year many organisations are aiming to progress their AI projects from hype to reality, driving meaningful improvements across their operations. At the same time, the 2027 maintenance deadline from ECC 6.0 is fast approaching, making it imperative that organisations get their data in order so that they can reap the benefits of a successful S/4HANA migration.

To highlight the data governance, management and quality challenges facing SAP organisations, Syniti (in conjunction with UKISUG) has published its 2026 report: Data migration and management for SAP businesses.

Key findings include:

  • 89% of surveyed organisations agree that data management challenges will slow their adoption of AI technologies.
  • 87% say that data quality is important in ensuring they realise full value from their AI investments.
  • 72% agree that data governance and compliance are their main concern around data management.
  • 94% of organisations believe siloed data prevents them from making real-time decisions.
  • 76% say data management presents a challenge when moving from ECC 6.0 to S/4HANA.
  • 79% of organisations say that data transformation is a priority.

Good data quality is crucial to business success, especially as organisation look see returns on their AI investments. Yet as the research shows, data quality concerns remain - meaning that data transformation in particular is a growing priority for many.

UKISUG’s Data & Analytics Community aims to support organisations on their data journey by providing members with the opportunity to network and share knowledge.
