Sponsoring a Darlington Beehive represents our commitment to community, sustainability and supporting local beekeepers in the North East of England.
Our honey is crafted by trained members of the Darlington Beekeepers Association (DBKA), with a focus on bee welfare, sustainability and environmental care. Bees are always left with enough honey for winter, while supplementary feeding is only used when needed. New beekeepers receive hands on training and mentoring and DBKA maintains pollinator friendly gardens around its apiaries to support local biodiversity.
We chose honey because it reflects our community values: local, sustainable and truly meaningful. Sourced from DBKA, it supports local beekeepers, protects vital pollinators and helps strengthen community connections across the North East. With low transport emissions, bee focused practices, pollinator friendly habitats and solar powered apiaries, every jar helps support a greener, more sustainable future.
Our honey is produced by the Darlington Beekeepers Association, a long established group based at The Denes in Darlington. Their bees forage on local wildflowers, creating natural, unprocessed honey with a flavour unique to the area. With two apiaries, DBKA focuses on education, conservation and responsible beekeeping, ensuring every jar supports both local biodiversity and traditional beekeeping skills.
By enjoying this honey, you help support a greener and more sustainable future.
Yes. DBKA sells their honey locally. Honey is available at The Denes Apiary on Tuesdays between 10:00 and 11:00 for £8 per jar, depending on seasonal availability.
This honey represents our partnership with dedicated beekeepers, our commitment to sustainability and our support for the local community. We are proud to share it with you.
