SAP BTP Whitepaper: Insights from the SAP community

SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) was launched in January 2021 to provide an innovation platform for SAP customers and partners.

However, according to the latest UKISUG research, organisations still have a mixed understanding of SAP BTP with 63% having high or moderate level knowledge of the platform. With SAP BTP providing a number of different services and capabilities, this is perhaps understandable, with only 19% of organisations having a high-level understanding of SAP BTP and what it can enable.

To help organisations who are evaluating or planning to use SAP BTP, we have launched our latest whitepaper which provides insights, anecdotes and learnings from the SAP community.

How are organisations using SAP BTP?

With the vast range of capabilities SAP BTP introduces, the drivers behind organisations’ adoption of the platform are mixed. Integration (26%) is the most common driver of use, followed closely by application development and automation, application extensibility, support for existing SAP S/4HANA / RISE / GROW projects, and data and analytics (all 16%).

Understanding how to use SAP BTP

This whitepaper aims to help member organisations get to grips with the commercial and technical aspects of using SAP BTP:
  • Understanding SAP BTP service usage and credit consumption – what are the safeguards you can put in place to keep costs under control?
  • How to ensure you have the right mix of in-house and partner skills to get the most out of SAP BTP
  • What role can SAP BTP play in helping you adopt a clean core strategy?
The whitepaper provides advice around how organisations can adhere to standardised guidelines and reduce manual effort during system upgrades by reducing the need for testing.
