How Tony's Chocolonely reduced order processing time by 90% with Procuros

Tony's Chocolonely is one of the Netherlands' largest chocolate manufacturers, built on a mission to end exploitation in the cocoa supply chain. Rapid growth across Europe brought a problem familiar to any expanding brand: every new retail partner came with its own EDI requirements, its own formats, and its own timeline.

The challenge
Order volumes were climbing and each new market meant another set of integrations. Edeka gave Tony's six months to connect digitally or accept forced discounts. Manual order processing was already creating bottlenecks and errors, and the IT team did not have the capacity to run an integration project per retailer.

The solution
Tony's connected to the Procuros Integration Hub through a single API, layered over their existing ERP and integration tooling. That one connection gave them access to the whole Procuros trading partner network, including live integrations with Edeka, Rewe, Globus and Metro. Procuros runs the connections as a managed service, with data validation built into every partner link, so bad references are caught before they reach the ERP rather than after fulfilment fails.

An API-first architecture was a deciding factor. As Bas, Business Central Consultant and Architect at Tony's, put it: "Finding a partner that uses forward-looking technologies was one of the most important decision criteria. For us, this means an API-first approach to maintain flexibility for adding additional use cases later on."

The results
-
90% reduction in order processing time
- Manual effort and error rates cut sharply across the operations team
- Minimal IT involvement, both at go-live and for each new partner
- Expansion beyond DACH into further European markets without additional integration projects

Jan, Head of Operations DACH & Nordics: "Procuros was a great partner in helping us achieve our goals with the first use cases, and we expect them to be just as good a partner for all future tasks."

How The Quality Group (ESN & More Nutrition) connected 30+ retailers and migrated to SAP with Procuros

The Quality Group (TQG) is a market-leading European sports nutrition business behind the ESN and More Nutrition brands. It supplies REWE, Edeka, dm, Rossmann and Albert Heijn alongside a large direct-to-consumer channel.

The challenge
Demand grew faster than the infrastructure behind it. New listings at major retail chains pushed order volumes up sharply while orders, invoices and delivery notes were still being handled manually, with the error risk and pricing discrepancies that come with it. At the same time TQG was planning a migration to SAP. Retailer connectivity had to keep working through the transition, with no gap in compliance to retail partner standards on either side of the cutover.

The solution
Procuros connected TQG to more than 30 European retail partners through a single connection, combining direct EDI, WebEDI and API options depending on what each partner and each internal team needed. Orders, invoices, delivery notes and credit notes are processed automatically and validated before posting.

The architecture was built to be SAP-ready from the start. Because the trading partner connections terminate at Procuros rather than at the ERP, the SAP migration did not require renegotiating or rebuilding a single retailer integration. The Procuros team worked directly alongside TQG's operations, IT and sales functions throughout.

The results
- 30+ major retail partners connected across DACH and Benelux
- Thousands of EDI transactions automated every month
- Manual handling errors and pricing discrepancies eliminated
- Several hours a week given back to the sales team
- ERP migration to SAP delivered without disrupting retailer connectivity

Sebastian Seifert, Head of Commercial Operations at TQG: "Procuros has transformed how we connect with retailers; what used to require hours of manual work is now seamless and automated."
