The Positive Value of UKISUG – More insights from our members

In our previous blog on the perks of being a UKISUG member, we looked at the resources and community UKISUG members can access. However, those aren’t the only benefits UKISUG members can realise – there is also the opportunity to learn from and share knowledge with your peers, and the opportunity to give feedback to SAP on its product roadmap.

Read on to find out what some our members have said about how being part of UKISUG has helped them:

Sharing knowledge with your peers

Veera Mokka (2024 Member Survey), Engineering Manager at Maersk, commented, “[UKISUG is] an excellent platform that helps all customers to keep up to date with SAP technology.” Similarly, Suman Das (2024 Member Survey), Senior Architect at Maersk, praised UKISUG’s ability to foster collaboration, “By collaborating with peers, and leveraging member resources, you can stay at the forefront of SAP innovations.”

Chris Bell (2024 Member Survey), Business Relationship Manager at Allwyn UK, added, “[UKISUG] is a great forum to see real-life users dealing with real-life requirements and a great place to share experiences both for help and support.” Angela Peach (2024 Member Survey), Head of Digital Transformation, International at Tata Consumer Products, also mentioned the value of the community, “There are always people who've been through something similar to you.”

Finally, Philip Adams (SUGTalk Series 10, Episode 4), Head of Group IT at Mercury Engineering, named UKISUG as his go-to location for advice, “The first place I always go is the network we've developed through the User Group. For me, it’s about being able to reinforce an idea or bounce something off another customer. Generally, because they're a member of the User Group, this is very beneficial. Nine times out of ten our core network in the User Group is the first place I would turn.”

Providing actionable feedback to SAP

At the end of the day, we all want the most from our SAP products and UKISUG provides a collective voice to share feedback with SAP. Arpit Goel (2024 Member Survey), Software Engineer at Booking.com, commented, “[UKISUG] serves as an important advocate for its members, giving them a collective voice to influence SAP's development and direction.” Similarly, Avinash Rajan (2024 Member Survey), Lead Technical Solutions Architect at Asda added, “SAP is open to criticism and has often taken away feedback from these events and from ‘influence SAP’ groups to enhance their product. UKISUG is a win-win for customers, partners, and SAP!”

In the same vein, Dawn Ingle (SUGTalks Series 5, Episode 6), IS Director at Shoosmiths, commented, “Hearing how another firm has used SAP, even if it's not relevant for your business is really important. UKISUG has a massive part to play in how we move forward and giving ideas of how we take SAP forward.”

However, it isn’t just our members who see the benefits of sharing feedback with SAP. SAP also values input from our members, with Thomas Saueressig (SUGTalks Series 16, Episode 8), Member of the Executive Board of SAP SE for Customer Services & Delivery, saying, “[UKISUG is] an amazing channel for us to reach so many customers. I appreciate that they challenge our strategy because that's important for us to inform our next steps, with listening to the user groups as well. User groups are essential for SAP. We're super proud about the relationship we have around the globe, and it helps us to make SAP better.”
