MVP+ for Public Sector SAP Cloud: Practical Lessons from a UK Local Authority Transition

Don Valentine from Applexus will share practical lessons from a live UK local authority SAP cloud transition, showing how its MVP+ approach helps public sector organisations move from ECC to S/4HANA Public Cloud and SuccessFactors with controlled scope, realistic workshops and reduced disruption.

The session will focus on transition rather than transofrmation: retaining actively used SAP ECC processes, establishing clear Project Execution Plan guardrails and using SAP cloud capabilities only where they add clear value without excessive change.

It will cover the importance of a strong Project Charter/Project Execution Plan, based on tool-based/automated due diligence against the current system, lessons in Public Sector Management design and practical considerations for key products such as S/4HANA Public Cloud, SuccessFactors Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll as well as supplementary products such as Central Invoice Management.

Attendees will benefit from lessons on workshop design, data migration boundaries, standardisation, stakeholder engagement, testing ownership and managing the gap between SAP best practice and real public sector operations.
